Rhine Legions. Anonymous, circa May/June-December 68. Denarius (Silver, 16 mm, 3.57 g, 5 h), uncertain mint in Gaul or in the Rhine Valley. 'SIGNA P R Group'. SALVS ET LIBERTAS Minerva standing front, head to right, holding spear in her right hand and placing her left on shield set on ground. Rev. SIGNA / P - R Aquila to right before lighted altar; signum on either side. BMC 43. CG 85.1 (this coin). Cohen 411. Martin 67 and pl. 6, 67 P = Nicolas 97 and pl. OX, 97 P (same obverse die). RIC 64. Extremely rare, one of just three known examples and the only one in private hands. Somewhat porous and with a minor scrape on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

The importance of this coin lies in its obverse die match to lot 1118 above, which connects the 'S P Q R Group' to the 'SIGNA P R Group'.
